Wildwood Inn

For 2 years, my special needs son had been asking to stay here in the treehouse suite for his birthday. We took his best friend and mom & drove almost 5 hrs. It was the worst experience from the moment we walked in. It stunk, was so hot the boys had sweat dripping & their clothes were soaked. Obvious water damage, mold & dust. They had tried to cover the mold with bleach & the fumes were burning our throat & chest, headache & earaches immediately started. We turned air up & left to get dinner hoping it would be better when we returned. It wasn’t. The longer we sat there, the worse we felt. I called the front desk to ask for a different room. Even though there were only 3 cars in the parking lot, I was told they didn’t have any more rooms available. They offered to bring us a box fan & spray “something” to cover the smell. 😡. I did not need any more fumes ! My son was so sad but agreed it was time to leave. At 11pm we checked out & found a wonderful Drury Inn next door. They were not going to give me a refund or discount at first then after hearing my son tell them how awful their hotel was, they gave me partial refund. Two days later, my chest is still tight & sore throat.

The treehouse room was a huge disappointment. There was obvious water damage outside in the hallway with plywood and peeling paint. The smell in the room was a mix of bleach and mold. My ears hurt and it burned my throat. The loft area was so hot the boys sweated through their clothes. With the chemical smell and mold we didn’t dare turn on the hot tub or the shower. We had to check out within a few hours. We had driven 5 hours to stay in a treehouse for our best buddy’s birthday. We were so sad.

Read lots of mix reviews, but we stayed anyway.. the shower water was amazing and hot! We where by the pool which stays open till 11pm so trying to go to bed was ruff, then pool doesn’t open till 4pm was hoping to hit hot tub before we left hotel. Also pool room WAY too hot and stuffy. Rooms are outdated but they are making renovations! Overall price wasn’t too bad

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! THE SERVICE FROM STAFF WAS OK BUT THE MAN IN CHARGE WAS AN @$$ HE CHARGED ME $25 FOR 3 SMALL TOWELS AND THE ROOMS ARE DISGUSTING!! I BOOKED A POOLSIDE ROOM FROM FRIDAY -SUNDAY SO MY KIDS COULD ENJOY THE POOL AREA (WHICH WAS NICE) BUT THE ROOM SMELLED LIKE FEET (OR SOMETHING), THE AIR CONDITIONER DID NOT WORK SO THE ROOM WAS HUMID AND STICKY THE WHOLE TIME. THE CARPETS WERE ALSO STICKY AND GROSS AND THE BEDS WERE SO BROKEN IN IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A GOOD NIGHT'S REST. YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE FRONT DESK TO GET POOL TOWELS AND EXCHANGE WET/CLEAN TOWELS THROUGHOUT YOUR STAY. WE WENT TO EXCHANGE TOWELS AT LEAST 3-4 TIMES OVER A 3 DAY PERIOD. STAFF DOES NOT KEEP TRACK OF THE TOWELS YOU ARE (EXCHANGING) BY THE END OF OUR STAY WE ONLY HAD 1 ROOM TOWEL AND SEVERAL POOL TOWELS SO THEY CHARGED ME $25 FOR TOWELS THAT ARE THERE SOMEWHERE. SUNDAY MORNING THERE WAS A MAN AT THE DESK (WHO I CAN ONLY ASSUME WAS THE OWNER OR MANAGER) I TRIED TO EXCHANGE THE TOWELS SO WE COULD SHOWER BEFORE CHECKOUT. HE WAS VERY RUDE AND NASTY TO ME INSINUATING I HAD STOLEN THE ROOM TOWLES.. THESE TOWELS WOULDN'T EVEN BE SUITABLE FOR A HAIR TOWEL. HE WAS LIGHT WEIGHT YELLING AT ME SAYING I WAS GOING TO BE CHARGED. HE REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING I HAD TO SAY. THIS IS PURELY NEGLIGENCE ON HIS STAFFS PART AND HAD I KNOWN THIS WAS EVEN A POSSIBILITY I WOULD HAVE KEPT TRACK OF THE TOWELS MYSELF... MY KIDS DID ENJOY THE POOL BUT WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO HIS HOTEL!!

Was a great place 40 years ago. Needs an update and better housekeepers
